The purpose of my project is to analyse and identify trends in Billboard chart topping songs from 1999 to 2019 by combining a dataset of Billboard chart entries with a Spotify dataset containing 1.2 million songs. My goal was to determine what factors influence a song or artist’s likelihood of appearing on the Billboard charts. This includes examining attributes such as genre, artist popularity and various song characteristics like danceability, energy and tempo.
