I chose to make a kitchen table because I believe it will fit well into my kitchen and we need the extra counter space. Furthermore, I wished to build a piece that is not only interesting and unique, but also shows a high range of skill that uses different techniques and machines in the production process, whilst aesthetically pleasing and useful.
