Fragments of Existential Shadows: Dostoevsky and Kafka

This series of oil paintings explores key motifs from Dostoevsky and Kafka’s works through the vanitas tradition. Two paintings for each writer depict symbolic objects: fruits, flowers, skulls and other emblems - that evoke themes of mortality, existential struggle and the fragility of life. Through layered symbolism and rich textures, the series reflects on the profound tensions between life, death and identity found within their literary worlds.
