Gerald Chen
Veil of the Moving City

Inspired by Paul Kenton, this work captures fleeting glimpses of global streetscapes - seen briefly before vanishing behind city architecture. Combining impressionist and futurist aesthetics, perspective lines lead to a vanishing point, while overlaid screenprints, drawn from charcoal sketches, add structure to fluid brushstrokes. The piece reflects the ever-changing view from a moving car, inviting us to pause and look up, if only for a moment.
