PHOBIC THRESHOLDS
My Body of Work inhabits the space where wonder becomes unease. It began as an investigation into phobias and developed into a critical exploration of the threshold between fear, fascination, and the natural world. Working in scratchboard, a medium whose precision and stark tonal contrast mirror the tension between revelation and concealment., I create intricate images that fracture, reconfigure and intertwine animal forms, exposing both their surfaces and imagined interiors. My work deliberately unsettles: beauty is entangled with discomfort, order with unpredictability. By collapsing the boundaries between scientific observation and obsessive fixation, I want the viewer to leave unsure whether they have studied the creatures or been studied in return.
